Al Adams is the President of Adams Transfer & Storage Company, the oldest family owned moving and storage company in the southeast, established in 1903. The fourth generation company has offices in Gainesville and Atlanta.
He is a native of Gainesville and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1970 with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree. He entered the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Signal Corp in January 1971. He was discharged from the Army in March of 1973 and began his career in the family business. His primary responsibilities have always been in the Atlanta office. He began as Vice President of Operations and became President in 1982.
He served as President of the Georgia Movers Association in 1979-1980 and as Chairman of the Rates and Tariff Committee of the Georgia Movers from 1985 to 1991.
He has served as Chairman of the Trustees for the Georgia Movers Self Insured Workers Comp Trust from 1992 to present.
